Nanny McPhee
Who knew the Boundary Ninja is really Nanny McPhee? Like Nanny McPhee, the more time I spent with him and the more I learned, the better looking he got. 🙂 And her rules are strangely applicable to therapy.
There is something you should understand about the way I work. When you need me but do not want me, then I must stay. When you want me but no longer need me, then I have to go. It’s rather sad, really, but there it is.
In some ways, it’s such a concise description of therapy. When I needed him, I had to stay, but when it became that I only wanted him, then it was time to go. Insights come from the oddest places.

Tales of a Boundary Ninja 
My DH is a big movie buff and so I’ve adopted his (and your 🙂 ) tendency to make connections with movie quotes. 😀 I agree this one is a perfect fit. I think every T (who engages in long-term therapy, anyway) should have this quote on their wall.

I know, right?! I was really kind of gob-smacked when I heard it, which was funny because I’ve seen the movie a number of times (I am a BIG fan of Colin Firth, the definitive Mr. Darcy in my book :)) but never made the connection.
And my family is really big on movie quotes. Our family room actually has the Addams family motto stenciled on the wall: “Sic gorgiamus allos subjectatos nunc” (which translated means: We gladly feast on those who would subject us. And to continue to quote Morticia, not just pretty words. :))
